Comparten confidencias, estiran hasta el infinito las noticias de ese diario que uno de ellos mantiene pulcramente doblado sobre el muslo, como un salvavidas que les conecta con el presente.
Todos algún día seremos como ellos, Mayores, Veteranos, Sabios de la Vida. Y diremos con kavafis: ” Mantén a Ítaca en tu mente.
Llegar a allí es tu destino. Pero no tengas la menor prisa en tu viaje, es mejor que dure muchos años y que, viejo al fin, arribes a la isla, rico por todas las ganancias de tu viaje, sin esperar que Ítaca te va a ofrecer riquezas. Ítaca te ha dado ya un hermoso viaje.”
Esta escultura ha sido donada a la ciudad de Estepona por Dña. María Luisa Puente Vida y D. Francisco Rodríguez Losada.

They share confidences, stretch to infinity the news from that newspaper that one of them keeps neatly folded on his thigh, like a life preserver that connects them with the present.
We will all one day be like them, Seniors, Veterans, Wise Men of Life. And we’ll say with kavafis: “Keep Ithaca in your mind.
Getting there is your destiny. But don’t be in the slightest hurry on your trip, it is better that it last many years and that, finally old, you arrive on the island, rich from all the profits from your trip, without expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches. Ithaca has already given you a beautiful journey.”
This sculpture has been donated to the city of Estepona by Mrs. María Luisa Puente Vida and Mr. Francisco Rodríguez Losada.
